Homemade Doner Kebab

A very popular takeaway especially after a night out at the pub. This favourite is so, so tasty – I’m sure once you try it, you’ll certainly want to make more.
Equipment: you will need a 1kg/2lb 4oz loaf tin

Ingredients
- 1 tsp rapeseed oil
- 400 g/ lean lamb mince
- 2 garlic cloves crushed
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- tsp ½onion powder
- tsp ½smoked paprika
- tsp ½sea salt
- tsp ½freshly ground black pepper
- 2 brown pittas or Naan Bread
- 2 sald tomatoes chopped
- ¼ red/white cabbage cored and finely shredded
- ½ cucumber diced
- 2 tbsp chilli sauce
- 2 tbsp garlic mayo

- Preheat the oven to 200C/180C Fan/Gas 6.
- Brush the oil over a 1kg/2lb 4oz loaf tin.
- Tip the mince into a large bowl, add the garlic, spices and seasoning andmix with your hands until smooth. Press into the loaf tin and bake for 20 minutes. Set aside until cool enough to handle.
- Meanwhile, warm the pittas in the oven for 5 minutes.
- Turn the meat out of the tin and slice the kebab lengthways into thin strips. Open up each pitta to create a pocket and pile in the salad ingredients andmeat. Or if using naan layer onto the naan Add chilli sauce and garlic mayo.
